“Cowboys vs. Scientists”: HEOPS Sponsors Innovative Network Contracting Congress in Las Vegas February 25, 2010

HEOPS Sponsors 2012 Network Contracting Congress in Las Vegas

February 27, 2012 (Las Vegas, NV) Delegates from many of the nation’s top health plans and key provider organizations met in Las Vegas for the 2012 Network Contracting Congress on February 27 and 28, 2012. This premier network contracting event was organized by Global Media Dynamics and sponsored by HEOPS.

“We have the prefect storm,” explains Nancy C Everitt, HEOPS Inc CEO and Conference Chairperson, ”Right now, is the best opportunity in over two decades for innovation and implementation of new ideas and technologies within the business and clinical practices of managed care and healthcare as a whole.” says Everitt,” Michael Lewis published The New New Thing in 1999 about the innovations occurring in Silicon Valley in its heyday; while healthcare is definitely not the tech industry in Silicon Valley, we are in a innovation mode that should be channeled for optimum system improvement.”

Everitt cautions that innovation may be stifled with “more of the same” from organizations that see only variations in current approaches rather than radically different ways to approach service delivery, pricing and clinical programs.

“Entrepreneurs should be sought out and encouraged within these organizations, give the entrepreneurs an opportunity to bring new approaches rather than riddling them with “why it can’t work” remarked Everitt. “An alternate approach to kick starting innovation is partnering with entrepreneurial organizations. Odds are that the bigger you are, the slower your organization will respond and the higher internal costs of development. To get to the goal you need obsessive, passionate entrepreneurs who see only a pathway to the solution.”

Innovation doesn’t occur during a scheduled meeting 4x per week says Everitt, if organizations really want to be prepared for healthcare reform and leading in their marketplace they will seek with an entrepreneurial edge as a game changer.
